Erweiterung der Zentralmensa der Universität Kassel

Herrn Dipl.-Ing., Dr.-Ing. E. h. Reiner Saul zur Vollendung des 80. Lebensjahres gewidmet
Die Erweiterung der Zentralmensa an der Universität in Kassel wurde als freischwebende Stahl-Glas-Konstruktion über dem Wirtschaftshof entworfen. Die komplexe Maßnahme umfasst dabei besondere Detailplanungen an der Bestandskonstruktion, Tiefbauarbeiten, Stahlbetonkonstruktionen und Stahlbaumaßnahmen, so dass alle wesentlichen Fachdisziplinen in einer Baumaßnahme vereint wurden. Bereits zu Beginn der Vorplanung wurde dabei auf die Vorteile der BIM-Modellierung zurückgegriffen, um die Verbindungen zwischen Bestandskonstruktion und Neubau sinnvoll zu erfassen.

Extension of the Central Refectory of the University of Kassel.
The extension of the central refectory of the University of Kassel was designed as a levitating steel-glass-structure spanning the access yard. The complex construction comprises very special design details regarding the existing structure, underground engineering and structures of reinforced concrete and steel so that all fundamental fields of civil engineering were combined in one construction project. Already at the beginning of the preliminary planning, BIM-modelling was implemented in order to reasonably capture the interlinkage between existing structures and new construction.
