Zum Entwerfen im Schalenbau: der neue Bistro-Pavillon "Subway" in Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart

Die Verwendung von modularen Holzschaltischen ermöglicht die Wiederbelebung des Betonschalenbaus in Form von Faltwerken. Während einer “Stagnationsphase” im Schalenbau haben sich jedoch die normativen bauphysikalischen und bautechnischen Anforderungen an die Betonbauten verändert. Am Beispiel der Dachschale des neuen “Subways” innerhalb der “Kelley Barracks” Stuttgart-Möhringen werden im nachfolgenden Bericht die wesentlichen Aspekte des Entwerfens und Realisierens moderner Faltwerke angesprochen. In Zusammenhang mit der höheren Fertigungsfreundlichkeit ihrer Formen konnte unter Verwendung eines Faltwerks ein wirtschaftliches Ergebnis erzielt werden. Ihr Vorteil liegt des Weiteren in der einfachen Durchbildung von Temperaturstößen bzw. Temperaturblöcken. Nicht zuletzt haben die Autoren beim Entwurf der Dachschale die Einbaubarkeit von linearen thermischen Isokörben mitentwickelt.

On designing concrete shell construction: the new “Subway” bistro pavilion in Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart
The use of modular timber formwork allows for the revival of concrete shell construction in the form of folding structures. During a “period of stagnation” in concrete shell construction, however, the normative requirements in terms of the physical and technical construction of concrete structures changed. Taking the example of the roof shell of the new “Subway” bistro in the Kelly Barracks in Stuttgart-Möhringen, this report addresses the essential aspects of the design and implementation of modern folding structures. Combined with a greater ease of production of the moulds, a good economic result was achieved using a folding structure. A further advantage is the simple design of temperature shocks or temperature blocks. Finally, the authors helped to develop linear thermal isokorbs when designing the roof shell.
