Membrane structures made from technical textiles are part of the built environment for decades now. Many membrane structures had been realised within Europe during the last 30 to 40 years. The aim today is to continue using them on a long‐term basis by restoring their original attractive appearance and preserve their stability for many years to follow. One example is the membrane roof of the Health Centre in Masserberg, Thuringia, finalised in 1994, where the original extremely strong membrane is now replaced with a today available high‐performance material.
