Die Berechnung geschraubter Kopfplattenverbindungen ist in der EN 1993-1-8 über das sog. T-Stummel-Modell geregelt. Abhängig von den sich einstellenden Verformungen kann es zu sog. Abstützkräften kommen, welche die Schrauben zusätzlich beanspruchen. Diese Effekte werden über das T-Stummel-Modell grundsätzlich abgebildet, allerdings nur für eine begrenzte Anzahl praxisrelevanter Fälle. Eine allgemeingültige Lösung dieses Problems stellt die Discontinuity-Layout-Optimization- (DLO-) Methode dar. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine numerische Methode zur direkten Bestimmung der Traglast, basierend auf dem kinematischen Satz und unter Verwendung linearer Optimierungsalgorithmen. In vorangegangenen Arbeiten wurde die Methodik bereits an typischen nicht ausgesteiften und ausgesteiften Kopfplattenverbindungen mit I-Profilen verifiziert. Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchungen ist es nun, den Anwendungsbereich der DLO auf zugbeanspruchte Hohlprofile mit Kopfplattenanschlüssen und allseitig angeordneten Schrauben zu erweitern. Diese Anschlüsse können über die EN 1993-1-8 nicht vollständig abgebildet werden, da allfällige globale Fließlinienmuster durch die Norm nicht abgedeckt sind. Daher wurden die berechneten Traglasten durch Versuche verifiziert. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass die DLO ein geeignetes Mittel zur Berechnung solcher Verbindungen ist und dass die Anwendung, im Vergleich zur FEM, deutlich einfacher und zudem normenkonform ist.

Limit analysis of bolted flange-plate connections in hollow section members using DLO
The calculation of bolted flange-plate connections is ruled in EN 1993-1-8 via the so-called T-stub model. Depending on the deformations, so-called prying forces can occur. These effects are included in the T-stub model but only for a limited number of practical cases. A general solution to this problem is the Discontinuity Layout Optimization (DLO) method. The DLO is a numerical method for the direct determination of the ultimate load, based on the upper bound theorem and by using linear optimization algorithms. In previous research, the methodology has already been verified on typical unstiffened and stiffened end-plate connections with I-sections. The presented investigations aim to extend the application range of the DLO to flange-plate connections in tension with all-sided bolts in hollow section members. These connections are not fully represented by EN 1993-1-8 since global yield line patterns are not covered. Therefore, the calculated ultimate loads were verified by tests. It could be shown that the DLO is a suitable method for calculating such connections and that the application, compared to the FEM, is significantly simpler and conforms to the standard.
