In den Jahren 2017 und 2018 sind die neuen Normen EN 1090-4 und EN 1090-5 für die Herstellung und Anwendung von tragenden Bauteilen und tragenden Profiltafeln des Metallleichtbaus erschienen. Diese Normen basieren auf den bekannten deutschen technischen Regeln DIN 18807-3, DASt-Richtlinie 016 und DIN 18807-9 in aktualisierter Form. EN 1090-4 und EN 1090-5 repräsentieren heute erstmals europaweit einen einheitlichen technischen Standard für die Herstellung und die Ausführung von Tragwerken des Metallleichtbaus. Weitere europäische Produktnormen für Bauelemente aus Metall, wie z. B. EN 14782, regeln zum Teil andere Anwendungsbereiche dieser Produkte. Dieser Beitrag soll eine Hilfestellung zur richtigen Anwendung und Abgrenzung der Normen geben.

DIN EN 1090-4 & -5 Standards for lightweight metal construction
In 2017 and 2018, the new standards EN 1090-4 and EN 1090-5 have been published for the manufacture and use of structural members and load-bearing profiled sheets of lightweight metal construction. These standards are based on the well-known German technical rules DIN 18807-3, DASt guideline 016 and DIN 18807-9 in updated form. For the first time in Europe, EN 1090-4 and EN 1090-5 represent a uniform technical standard for the manufacture and installation of lightweight cold-formed profiled sheets and members. Other European product standards for metal components, like e.g. EN 14782, regulate in part other applications of these products. This article is intended to provide guidance on the correct application and delimitation of these standards.
