Die aktuelle Marktsituation steht im Bereich der Infrastruktur im Allgemeinen und vor allem im Brückenbau in einem besonderen Kontext. Waren die beiden großen Epochen des Stahlbrückenbaus, der Beginn der Massenmobilität in den 60er und Anfang der 70er Jahre des vergangenen Jahrhunderts sowie die Maßnahmen nach der Wiedervereinigung mit Ende der 90er und zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts, geprägt durch Neubauten weitestgehend auf der grünen Wiese, so stehen wir heute womöglich am Anfang einer weiteren Phase mit wesentlich geänderten Rahmenbedingungen. Der Neubau von Fernstraßen wird sich auf einige Lückenschlüsse reduzieren. Dafür gilt es, das vorhandene Straßennetz fit für das nächste Jahrhundert zu machen. Nicht nur die in die Jahre gekommenen Bauwerke, auch die zu keiner Zeit erwartete Zunahme des Verkehrs und insbesondere des Schwerverkehrs führt zu Sanierungen und Erneuerungsmaßnahmen in nie gedachtem Umfang. Dabei stellt das Bauen unter der Aufrechterhaltung des Verkehrs eine besondere Herausforderung dar.

The current market situation in the field of infrastructure in general and especially the superstructure are placed in a special context. Whereas the history of steel bridges started with the beginning of mass mobility in the 60s and early 70s of the last century as well as the reunification in the late 90s, our century is now battled with completely different conditions. A new area has started and is challenging us with all its pros and cons. The construction of new highways will be reduced to the closing of gaps. Therefore it is really important to focus on the existing road network and its future. Not only are old constructions a huge problem, especially the increase of traffic and particularly heavy load traffic are leading to redevelopment and renewal in never existing extent. All this leads to a very special challenge during the execution of all road and construction works.
