The European Underground and Tunnel Forum (EUTF) –Developments and Outlook

Das europäische Untertage‐ und Tunnelbau Forum (EUTF) wurde im Jahr 2019 auf Initiative von acht – und später neun – Mitgliedsstaaten der International Tunneling Association (ITA) gegründet, die eine engere Zusammenarbeit auf europäischer Ebene erreichen und wichtige Themen für den Untertage‐ und Tunnelbauberuf ansprechen möchten. Nach der Vorstellung der Mitglieder des Forums und seiner Ziele werden die Strategie, Organisation und Maßnahmen seit seiner Gründung beschrieben. Es werden einige Einblicke in die Perspektiven für zukünftige Entwicklungen gegeben.

The European Underground and Tunnel Forum (EUTF) was formed in 2019, at the initiative of eight – and subsequently nine – Member Nations of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) who wanted to achieve a closer collaboration at a European level and address matters at stake for the tunnelling and underground space profession. After presenting the members of the Forum and its objectives, the paper describes the strategy, organization and actions undertaken since its formation. Some insights are provided on the perspective for future developments.
