Im Jahr 1973 wurde für den Gastransport sowie Telekommunikationskabel ein Düker, bestehend aus drei Stahlrohren mit 700 mm Durchmesser, gebaut. Aktuell fehlte hier im Rahmen der anstehenden Elbvertiefung die nötige Überdeckung für die Betriebssicherheit des Dükers. Aus diesem Grund musste nach dem Bau eines neueren, tiefer gelegenen Dükers der alte Düker ausgebaut werden. Über die Technik und die Besonderheiten des Dükerrückbaus wird hier berichtet. Die Bauaufgabe war einmalig und neu. Sie stellte die Planung und Ausführung vor große Herausforderungen.

Removal of a dive culvert through the river Elbe near Hetlingen
In 1973, a culvert was constructed through the Elbe river consisting of three steel pipes with a diameter of 700 mm for the transport of gas and telecommunications cables. At present, there was no sufficient cover for the operational safety of the culvert within the framework of the upcoming deepening of the Elbe. For this reason, the old culvert had to be removed following the construction of a newer lower situated culvert. The technology and special features of culvert deconstruction are reported on here. The construction task was unique and new and posed major challenges in terms of planning and execution.
