Einblicke zum Rapid Chloride Migration Test – Präzision, Chloridverlauf und Chloridbinden

Der Rapid Chloride Migration (RCM‐) Test ist ein wesentliches Prüfverfahren zur Bewertung des Chlorideindringwiderstands von Beton und Mörtel. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wurden verschiedene Aspekte des RCM‐Tests wie Präzision und Konsistenz, das Chloridprofil nach dem Test sowie das Chloridbinden während des Tests untersucht. Es konnten gute Wiederholpräzisionsdaten, insbesondere für Mörtelproben, gewonnen und das modelltheoretische Eindringprofil der Chloride an Mörtelproben bestätigt werden. Zudem erfolgte ein Vergleich der ermittelten Chlorideindringfront anhand von μRFA‐Aufnahmen mit der regulären Indikatormethode (mittels Silbernitrat). Die Verfahren wiesen eine sehr gute Übereinstimmung auf. Durch eine Betrachtung der freien und der Gesamtchloridkonzentration in Verbindung mit der Porosität der Proben konnte der Nachweis der Chloridbindung während des RCM‐Tests erbracht werden. Diese Ergebnisse unterstreichen die Zuverlässigkeit des RCM‐Tests und erweitern das Verständnis für die Chloridmigration und ‐bindung in zementbasierten Materialien.

The Rapid Chloride Migration (RCM) test is an essential test method for assessing the chloride penetration resistance of concrete and mortar. In this article, various topics of the RCM test such as precision and consistency, the chloride profile after the test and chloride binding during the test were analysed. Good repeatability data were obtained, especially for mortar samples, and the model‐theoretical penetration profile of chlorides on mortar samples was confirmed. In addition, the chloride penetration front determined using μ‐XRF images was compared with the regular indicator method (using silver nitrate). The methods showed good agreement. By analysing the free and total chloride concentration in conjunction with the porosity of the samples, it was possible to provide evidence of chloride binding during the RCM test. These results emphasise the reliability of the RCM test and extend the understanding of chloride migration and binding in cement‐based materials.
