Das zweiseitig an der Elbe liegende neue Zentrum des Stadtteils HafenCity: WH‐Überseequartier in Hamburg wurde im April 2025 eröffnet. Investor, Bauherr und Betreiber des neuen Quartiers mit insgesamt 419.000 m Brutto‐Grundfläche ist das Unternehmen Unibail‐Rodamco‐Westfield. Insgesamt wurden im Quartier 14 aufgehende Gebäude nach Entwürfen namhafter Architekturbüros realisiert. In diesem Bericht werden die Gebäude sowie die statisch‐konstruktiven Herausforderungen der unterschiedlichen Tragwerke der Hochbauten und Untergeschosse bei den vielfältigen Nutzungsanforderungen exemplarisch aus Perspektive der Planung und Bauausführung beschrieben. Im bereits erschienen ersten Teil zum WH‐Überseequartier wurden die Ingenieurbauwerke von den Baugruben, dem Umgang mit dem mitten im Baufeld liegenden Haltestellenbauwerk der U‐Bahn, dem Teilersatzneubau des Chicagokais bis zu den Gründungen der neuen Hochbauten und Außenanlagen vorgestellt.

The new center of the HafenCity district, located directly by the river Elbe: WH‐Überseequartier in Hamburg, was opened in April 2025. Unibail‐Rodamco‐Westfield is the company behind the project as investor, developer and operator of the new district, which has a total gross floor area of 419.000 square meters and consists of 14 buildings based on designs from numerous renowned architectural firms. This paper describes the buildings as well as the structural challenges of the various load‐bearing structures of the buildings and basements in relation to the different usage requirements, showcased from the perspective of planning and construction execution. The already published first part about the WH‐Überseequartier describes the challenges of planning and implementing the various civil engineering structures required in the district, from the construction pits in combination with the subway station located in the middle of the con‐struction site to the necessary partial replacement of the quay construction walls at Chicagokai and the foundations of the buildings and landscape architecture.
